Handmade 1960/70s trench combat knife , theatre made. Made and used during the Vietnam war and bought in with North Vietnamese pith helmet and GIs M1 combat helmet with Mitchell cover (see other items). Knife has thick bowie style blade measuring 6 inches / 17.2 cm. Blade has nice carving /chiselling at the back of the blade (similar to 19th cent. Bowie knives and Scottish Dirks). Wide thick brass or bronze handguard, handle is made up of thick compressed leather washers and white cream like Perspex or plastic with a aluminium and green resin pommel. Overall length of knife incl. handle is just under a foot long / just under 30 cm. Comes with a leather or leatherette handmade scabbard (looks like this might have been made out of a belt) which has pierced flower designs and leatherette lacing up the sides.
